Our Rustic Engagement

They are hereeeeee! We only had our engagement shoot last Saturday and we thought it would take awhile to get them back, but we had them in our hands in record time!

We were told they were ready to be picked up, but as we had other commitments, we wouldn't be able to get them until next weekend. But K, the sneaky thing, surprised me last night when he came over! I can't believe how good they are, and Neiyo did an AMAZING job capturing us. I can't wait for her to do our wedding photography!

We kept our photos simple, with limited decoration, so we only had vintage books, suitcases and a basket full of iced donuts and cupcakes. (and they were delicious by the way!) So what do you think? Don't we look like a totally loved up couple?!! Enjoy! :)

Sneak Peek: Our Engagement Session

K and I finally got to have our engagement photography session today with our very talented wedding photographer Neiyo Sun. (You can view Neiyo's amazing work here on her blog) I was nervous about a week before the session because I was worried all our preparation & hard work finding props, wasn't going to be enough. I needed to have not worried as we had more than enough, and everything looked just as we wanted it to be!

We wanted our session to be rustic/country/relaxed, as our wedding will be just that - so we wanted to keep things on the same level and not be too formal and boring! I even got up early and went to the local hair salon (which from K's house is 5 minutes away!) and had my hair put into an up-do, I found the style on Pintrest and thought it would suit. I LOVED this hairstyle, and Dee from Madeeka did a fantastic job of recreating it from the image I sent her. I think she'll become my hairdresser when I finally move to Melbourne :)

I should have a sneak peek of our session on either Sunday or Monday, and we won't get the official photos for about 2 weeks. I can't WAIT to see them. So stay tuned!

Chi Chi - Glamorous Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

NEUTRALS, NEUTRALS, NEUTRALS! For a girl with my complexion, there is no such thing as owning too many neutral palettes, especially when this one could be the best dupes for Urban Decay's 'Naked' eyeshadow palette which unfortunately for us Aussies - isn't available here. (Unless you want to pay $70+ on eBay for something that is probably fake! But I won't take my chances thanks!)

I saw this in Myer in my hometown a few weekends ago and I didn't fully catch on that it was very similar to Naked, though after doing some research when I got home - I got excited. It was lucky for me the weekend just passed, I was able to pick this little baby up for HALF price. Yup, $17. So I was pretty happy!

The colors are similar to the Naked palette, but not all are spot on. I've already done the research and the pigmentation of these are a little less than I see when people use the Naked palette, but they are still pretty. I'm not one for hugely pigmented eyeshadows, I find them messy, and I think for me being so pale, I'd rather stick with light, natural eyeshadows.

It's a lovely little palette and I can't wait to try it all out, especially in 26 days when K & I go to Hong Kong again!

So guys, what do you think of Chi Chi's nude palette? Do you find it to be one of the best dupes for Urban Decay's Naked Palette? Let me know in the comments below!

6 Months, 12 Months

Today marks a very special day in the countdown to our weddings. We have reached the 6 month and 12 month mark for both our weddings! We'd be having our Hong Kong wedding early next year, and today (20th September) next year - we'd be getting married! I spent most of the day looking out my office window keeping a watch on the weather, wondering what it would be like for our wedding.
I think it went through 3 seasons today! It was cold & overcast, sunny and bright then raining!
I've heard it's good luck when it rains on your wedding day, but I don't think I want it to, mainly because a) we'd be on a farm, and b) I don't want to get my dress dirty! Fingers crossed it won't rain next year!

I know it's a year away, but everyone keeps telling me that a year will go by SO fast, and I agree. I better pull my socks up and start working on our DIY projects for the reception. There's so many cute things I want to make, and I just hope they'll turn out right! (I'm sure with the help of my lovely Bridesmaid, everything will look perfect!)

Bourjois Blusher - Rose Frission #54

I have been hearing a lot about the brand Bourjois, and it was by coincidence that I found this in Priceline today. I had run out of blushed last week, so this was a necessity! I bought 'Rose Fression', number #54. It's in cute little packaging, and is super convenient to pop in your handbag, or for traveling.

It comes with a small little arc brush that sits inside the box, and even though the powder looks quite dark, its actually gives a light sheen when applied to skin. Plus it has this lovely smell of baby powder / roses!
What do you think of Bourjois products?
