Photo gives an idea of what kind of wedding this might be! |
This weekend K and I had our appointment with the venue we had chosen for our Australian wedding next year. After waiting two weeks on baited breath, we hoped we would be able to secure a Saturday in the months that allowed for our guest numbers. Our venue is about 40km from the Melbourne CBD, in the Dandenong Ranges. After arriving at 10.30am on Saturday morning, we found it was around 6' degrees and was foggy and wet, which wasn't too much of an issue, once we met our coordinator and went inside the barn, we were greeted by 3 log fires - which were toasty warm!
K and I had discussed a few days earlier a time we would have liked our wedding, and thankfully for us, it was available!
We are now booked in for the 20th of September, 2014! We had also discussed previously how we were going to decorate, or what 'theme' we were going to try incorporate into our wedding. But after looking more closely at the venue on our own, and the tables were set up for a wedding that afternoon, really made it obvious that not much decorating was needed at all. I am just so in love with this venue, and I can't wait to show people photos, but we are waiting until we have sent our Save The Date cards out in the coming months before we tell people. This will be hard!
After about an hour or so later, we went off to lunch to the Pancake Parlour (I mean who doesn't like pancakes with ice cream in the middle of the day?!) before looking around the shopping centre at craft shops for more ideas for the wedding.

Short stack pancakes with butter and ice-cream. Yum! |
In amoungst all of our planning for our Australian wedding, my soon-to-be parent's in law have been busily trying to secure a date for March next year, at a Hong Kong venue. We will find out tonight if they have been successful or not. I'm really hoping they have, but there is always Plan B. Once we find out if the date has been confirmed, we can work out an itinerary for my family and friends who are traveling to HK for our wedding. It's hard to believe that in next March - I will be a married woman! I am just a little bit excited :)

Early preparation will make everything stress-free! Couples must really consider planning and reserving ahead of time to land a sure spot on their desired venue on their chosen date. Doing so will make the entire wedding preparation a whole lot fun.
